The entire team at Companions is extremely compassionate, caring and gentle. When I walked in Lisa greeted me with a smile. Dr. Barnable explained things so well and welcomed any questions to make sure I had full understanding of the treatment plan for my pup. Kristen is the absolute best and was extremely gentle and thorough. They treat your animal as if its their own. The facility is extremely clean and professional. Our dog went misdiagnosed for one full year before coming here. To start, the staff is extremely kind and gentle. The veterinarian we saw was extremely intelligent, informative, empathic and compassionate. We did not feel rushed at all and finally we felt we came to a conclusion as to what was occurring with our doodle.We knew right then and there leaving we would switch our current vet to this place! I came to companions for my dogs allergy test. They were very thorough and informative. They got the results back to me quickly via email and phone which i was happy about. Also very kind staff& clean facility! I will say it could use renovations, to make it more modern.

I really like taking my cat to this vet! The staff are all really gentle and kind, the doctor is very knowledgeable. Its my preference for my vet to be a cat owner themself, so I appreciate that there is a cat guy in this office! I never leave feeling like I was spoken down to or not listened to about my worries like I did when I was first trying to find a good fit with other offices. 🙂

Companions Animal Hospital is the ONLY place to bring your fur baby!! I have been going to companions for 10 years + with 2 different fur babies, and would not go anywhere else! Takes 30-45 minutes to get there depending on traffic from my house, but the doctors and staff are all amazing and no matter the issue I wouldn't go anywhere else! If I could give them more then 5 Stars I would!!! Thank you Companions for everything you do for myself and my Maddy!!!

Dr Infurnuso and his whole team are the best in the business! As a dog rescue owner I use them quite frequently and have to say I wouldn't go anywhere else for the best veterinary care! I know Dr Infurnuso for over 10 yrs and he never once has cease to amaze me with his talent, kindness, professionalism and care! The man to me and the rescue I serve is Gods healer on earth!

Being new adopters we were worried about an issue with our new dog Joey. Having a confusing experience with another vet and on recommendation from a family friend we came to Companions. Dr. Barnable, put us at ease with the way he handled our Joey. He was very patient and thorough in explaining all Joey’s medical tests to me. That put me at ease. That he wanted to make sure I understood what was happening. Our scared little Joey was wagging his tail at the end of our visit. Which speaks for itself.

I've been using this practice for 16 years . All of the doctors are fabulous . The vet techs too. They are so compassionate and truly care about their patients . I had to put my dog down last week.... I was a little nervous but you can't imagine how perfect it was . They made me feel good about the process ... Dr. Barnable, and the staff at Companion are the best! Just got back from an annual appointment for our aussie. Dr. Barnable always takes him time and addresses all my concerns and does so patiently. He is thorough, knowledgeable and always offers solutions to my concerns. He also really cares about the animals and always goes out of his way to make my sometimes shy dog feel more at ease. So glad we found them! Highly recommend!

Yesterday we bought our 10 year old lab to Companions Animal hospital thinking she ate something she shouldnt have. Only to find out the devasting news she had liver cancer. My family was absolutly shocked and heartbroken. The entire staff at Companions were so kind caring and loving to all of us. Dr Barnable there are no words….. he spent hours with us explaining to each family member exactly what was going on never rushed us… answered our questions over and over again.He made an excuriating day a bit easier. Thank you for being so patient kind empathetic and truly holding each one of our hands through the process. You are in a class of your own

I love this animal hospital! When my lab became almost cripple, I was using another vet, who recommended test after test, surgery etc. I decided to try holistic healing and found Companions did acupuncture. I don’t want to make this too long. Acupuncture helped for a little while. In the end, they told me what they thought it was and there was no cure. When my family decided to put him down, the doctors at Companions made it such a beautiful ceremony.That was 6 years ago and I finally got myself a new puppy! There was no doubt in my mind who I was going to use as my vet. As I said, I love them!

Our dog has had the worst allergies which effected her ears immensely. Dr. Klemenger examined and treated her with such care and love. Should definitely come here and experience how compassionate this hospital is when it comes to our beloved pets. Prices are reasonable and every diagnosis and treatment was explained in details and nothing was done without my consent. The staff there is wonderful as well and just makes the whole experience worthwhile. The hospital though was a bit confusing to find the first time since they share a parking lot with a doctors office across from them. Also, I don't believe the number on Yelp is the correct one.

By far the best vet I have been to in a long time! Since the moment I brought my puppy Feta, I have been made to feel so comfortable with all of the staff and Dr. Barnable. The team is truly the sweetest around! My puppy does not like going inside establishments but once she is in and Dr. Barnable walks in the room she lights up! She absolutely loves him and lets him do the exam with ease. I never feel like i am bothering the team or Dr. B and they always have quick response, phone follow ups after visits and make me feel like I am doing right by my fur baby! This is an amazing practice. The veterinarians are so skilled and compassionate and the entire staff is so friendly and kind. Yesterday I took my elderly cat for a well visit. She was so frightened but by the end of the exam, she was purring as Dr Klemenger took her blood. Dr Klemenger and vet tech Alara were so patient and took the time to calm down my cat and make her feel safe. I am also grateful to Dr Barnable. Several years ago my beloved cat had a terminal illness. During the last few months of her life Dr Barnable treated her with such compassion, skill and dignity to make sure she was always comfortable. I am also so appreciative to Dr Marghoob. She is also a wonderful, compassionate veterinarian who will explore standard options as well as holistic approaches to your pet's care. Thank you to the wonderful staff at reception who make me and my pets welcome.

I can’t say enough good things about this vet. My brother takes his two dogs here, and when my own dog was in crisis, they took me in immediately (even as a new client), gave my dog amazing care and were fair in price. The team was so amazing during a very difficult and stressful time. I had to also take my dog to an emergency vet for overnight monitoring, and they set up my stay and even let me borrow one of their dog carriers for my dog. Highly highly recommend.

Got my puppy almost a year ago and I've been bouncing around vets trying to find the perfect fit and Companions have exceeded my expectations. They were so welcoming and answered all my questions and gave me so much information. Every staff member was extremely welcoming and friendly. It was by far the best experience I've had so far and I'm so glad we have found our perfect fit!

Recently took my sick cat to see Dr Kleminger based on the reviews here. Dr K is a caring compassionate medical expert. I love that she always follows up a day or two later to see how my pet is doing. As to the comments about them ) "inflating" the bills w/o consent, baloney!! Dr K has ALWAYS called me if she sees something else is needed beyond what we discussed and I've never had a service done that I didn't ask for. I also love the fact that this is a woman owned & operated business as I think women doctors are more caring, compassionate & thorough (just my H.O.). The only thing I wish they would do is offer multi-pet discounts like other vets do. With 3 pets, visits get pricey.

4 stars for the wonderful vets and techs at Companions, 1 star for front office staff. I’ve been met with rudeness and an abrasive attitude on more than one occasion. Definitely would give Companions 5 stars if not for the very difficult front office staff.

I would definitely give Companions 4-5 stars when it comes to healthcare but a solid 2 stars when it comes to front desk staff. I've been met with rudeness and impatience several times when calling the office. I do appreciate the great job that the vets and techs but the front desk staff is very tough to deal with.

Companions is always there for me and my dogs. I sadly had to put Lola, one of my Dogs, down over a year ago after kidney failure and the staff was so good to us. I received a card signed by everyone who works there and this clay imprint of her paw prints- I look at it everyday and remember how sweet my little girl was. My boy Rico started having some pain last night and was yelping. Companions took us in immediately today and he is already feeling so much better. Thank you all so much.

We used to see Dr. Klemenger (and Dr. Marghoob occasionally) when they worked in Queens. A few eats ago we moved to Nassau and finally got another pup. We realized we were close to Dr. K new location and they were again an AAHA Accredited hospital. We were thrilled. Esp since the closer Vet we first took our newly adopted pup to didn't do as in-depth a check on a stool sample and didn't pick up on a parasite. One that could have spread to other animals and our kids. It is well worth traveling the extra 4 min to Merrick for that! I highly recommend them!

The doctors and staff at Companions have been caring for my dogs for over a decade and have never failed to provide the absolute highest level of expertise, compassion, and understanding. The our primary doctor has been Dr. Marghoob, we had some experience with each of the vets in the practice and have found them all to be outstanding. The facility is clean and welcoming, and the support staff is among the best I've ever encountered. Everyone at Companions goes the extra mile and I feel blessed to have my pet in their care.

I could not rate this clinic high enough. They have been professional, caring and took the time to educate me on my dogs illness. My chihuahua had suffered with a skin issue for over a year and was seen by many other Vets with loads of treatments for allergies. When I took him to Companions they took one look at him treated him for skin infection and he was cured! I only trust them with my pets!!!

It's worse than I thought. I gave companions animal Hospital a one star a few months ago because they were expensive and my dogs ear infections were not healing. I guess they read the review and refused to see my cat in an emergency situation. They said I should find another place and we were not compatible. Since when does a animal hospital have to be compatible with a owner to treat a cat in an emergency situation. That just goes to show you where their allegiance lies. In your pocket. My 14 year old Westie had a large growth on the left front leg, near the dew claw. The doctors at Companions were pretty certain it was cancerous and after several visits I was told the best thing was to keep her on pain killers, making her as comfortable as possible for as long as possible.I took the dog to another local vet recommended by friends. They were not certain the growth was cancerous. They told me if it was, it probably would have spread by now. So they took a chest X-ray and sent it to a veterinary radiologist who saw no cancer in the chest.I then opted for surgery to remove the growth. The surgery was successful and the removed tissue was biopsied and found NOT to be cancerous. After a couple of tough weeks recuperating, my dog is now fine. She's 14 and I know she won't be around forever, but it's nice to see her healthy and active again.Was Companions' opinion based on the fact that they would NOT have done the surgery and thus not collect the fee associated with it? I don't know. But I do know I won't be bringing my pets there again.

From the moment you enter, you feel a sense of comfort because the people here know what they are doing and love their animal patients. They ensure the proper care of all their patients. It is so expensive. I was having a financial issue and the woman at the front desk who was handling it was so rude to me and made me even more distressed than I already was because my dog is sick. The doctors are so sweet but this place is so expensive and the employee was not helpful or understanding in the slightest.

There are not enough stars in the virtual world to say how grateful We are for Dr. Kleminger and the staff at Companion's Animal Hospital. We had to put our Angel cat Lily to sleep recently during COVID 19 Social Distancing. We had to take her back and forth To Companion's as her health deteriorated. Giving Lily to a doctor to take inside when we could not be with her each time we had to take her was so difficult. I wish i was able to give Companions and Dr Marghoob six stars instead of just five.Dr Marghoob had been treating my cat for the past 12 years; until his very sudden and devastating illness and demise...There was no question that was too trivial and no explanation too unnecessary for Dr Marghoob as she tried her best to help me make the best decisions concerning my cat... She is not an alarmist..she answers your questions honestly and is sympathetic to your needs..I highly recommend Companions..the office is always immaculate and staff is kind and considerate... I have Been bringing my pets (2 or 3 dogs; 2 cats) to Companions For about 12 years. They are AMAZING! From the front desk staff, to the vet techs, to the Dr’s they are ALL AMAZING and care so much about your pets (and your) welfare. I’ve done spays and neuters there, tumor removal surgery, numerous ear infections, stye removals, and lastly putting my 1 dog to sleep (yesterday). They have been amazing and empathetic on all fronts. I cannot Say enough great things about them and in particular Drs Barnable and Marghoub. I dont Know where I’d be without their care and explanations. You’re truly doing yourself and your pet a disservice if you go anywhere else for pet care 🙏🏻💙

Dr. Klemenger and her team run an incredible vet clinic, I would never go anywhere else. The level of care my dog receives is incredible and she even called after hours from her cell to check on my dog after surgery. We trust this place wholeheartedly. I have Senior Dog 17, that needs extra special care and also younger pups ... they are very compassionate here. When my dog was sick they took their time to make her comfortable enough to give him her medications there. They were petting her and out her at ease. Also they have alternative natural therapies here for dogs to help with pain and nerve issues affecting mobility-like acupuncture and laser therapy. I just tried on my old man Spanky who is 17 and nearing the end of his life. They are kind and helping me to ease his discomfort to improve his quality of life his last few months. This is a godsend because it’s been a very sad and scary process to watch him deteriorate. I want his to have the proper care he deserves that and this is the place to do it.

Amazing first experience with my new puppy! The doctor sat and talked to me and my boyfriend for a half hour in detail, played with my dog and gave us a puppy starter pack with printed out advice, treats and a pack of heart worm pills for free! Definitely would recommend!!

I had a great experience here with my 13.5 year old Shiba Inu after he had 2 seizures out of the blue. We had drifted off from regular care since he and my other dog had been aging, but outwardly healthy. Companions came on high recommendation from some friends and they were able to accommodate us pretty quickly(of course, this happens late July 3rd). From the professional manner on the phone to the welcoming care that my dog received, I have been very happy. Dr. K went over options and we're looking to keep our dog happy, healthy and comfortable in his senior years. Thank you again.

I recommend this vet practice. They are polite and reasonable priced. I have 2 pit bulls and they like going there because they get treats from the doctor. There is a woman from England who is in the front. She is caring and nice and pretty too. She always squeezes me in.

I read good reviews and I'm glad my cats ok, however, I was really upset, fearful of the status of my cat, and because of that I was taken very advantage of. I'll never take her to this Veterinarian again. I was told that the walk in fee for first time customers were 84.00 and the Dr. told me that they were going to do a urine test and physical. However the bill totalled 423 and change. How you say? And the treats to put the medicine were 8.15...4x the amount at the pet store...service is 5 star...service that's needed-very poor-a zero...healthcare for ones self or a loved one is not an opportunity for a green flag to take advantage of tears...Avoid them like the plague.

I've been going to companion animal hospital for a couple of years now and I love the people who work there! They are amazing and understanding, they take care of my dog like it's their own. We had to put my dog down there and they made it a sweet experience. They're very compassionate and I'd recommend this hospital to anyone!

Still in love with this place. They've now added acupuncture to their services along with some naturopathic skills. I also wanted to add that in addition to the skilled vets and friendly staff, one of the best traits of this practice is the openness of the office. Unlike the sometimes gloomy, smelly, overcrowded and yes, secretive air of other clinics, theirs is sunny, bright and airy, with no sense of Dr. Moreau (some of you will get this reference) being in residence. They don't overbook, and there is a friendly, family air to the place. They are caring and helpful. We're in Queens and we schlep our animals almost an hour, to Merrick, because the level of care they provide. Dr Klemenger and Dr Marghoob are to be commended for the excellence. There is an old Brooklyn saying, "The fish stinks from the head." meaning crap runs downhill. The opposite is also true. You can see the staff likes working there. It makes a difference.

Best veterinary clinic on Long Island. If you have a special needs pet, this facility has everything you need in order to care for your pets. Including but not limited to cats with cerebral hypoplasia. They also are able to safely spay and neuter special needs animals. And the staff are amazing, sweet, and accommodating. The pricing is absolutely reasonable and fair too!

What an absolutely wonderful and compassionate vet office. The front desk staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful. We see Dr. Barnable and he spends his time examining our dog, going through medical history and touching on any prior concerns each visit. He's caring and knowledgeable. We're so happy to have found this veterinarian office!

I absolutely love this place, the staff are so friendly and professional and Dr. Barnable is amazing. I have only been there twice but they immediately recognized my kitten and my kitten immediately ran into Dr. Barnable like if she had known him. Everyone is truly accommodating, they squeezed me in right away for an emergency which I was so thankful . It is hard dealing with a sick pet but having a vet that is so loving and caring for your pet as if it is their own is truly reassuring. I moved from merrick to East Rockaway and i will still be bringing kitty here because they are just that great

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I’m so happy with the care that our dogs, especially Ollie, have received at Companions Animal Hospital. All of the veterinarians here are fantastic. I don’t ever get the sense of them performing unnecessary interventions just for money, they take their time with each visit, and they are willing to make any arrangements possible and explore all options so that our dogs’ health and wellness comes first.We searched for years for a doctor we could trust for our dogs, jumping from practice to practice, and they have far exceeded our expectations. Our dogs are family to us, so we continue to bring them here because they receive top of the line care. I recommend them to everyone who asks.

Amazing low stress vets here! Good for anxious animals!

We took our five year old Lab Duncan to Companions Animal Hospital for laser and acupuncture as an alternative to surgery for two torn ACL's in his back knees. Dr. Marghoob and Dr. Barnable have been so wonderful during this entire process. Duncan arrived barely able to walk and after four treatments I am happy to report that he is just about back to himself! Will he need surgery somewhere down the line? Maybe. Until then I am thrilled that I decided to give this type of treatment a try and even happier to have found a team of doctors that are kind, knowledgeable, patient and take time to answer all of your questions. Their entire staff is warm and friendly! I cannot say enough about how happy we are with this office and the care our dog received.
